Something to Think About
R.B.WORDS - VOL. 33 - NO. 7 - JULY 2021 ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT - The resurgence of the COVID-19 virus in a form called “Delta” which is much more contagious has given our planet, let alone our country and state and local communities, something to think about. It is a tragic resurgence, coming just as restrictions were being lifted in our customary patterns of life because more than 90% of those being infected are unvaccinated. We may recall the race to develop an effective vaccine and the fumbling efforts to make it available. But now it is widely available and we have folks who are refusing it for different reasons. These same folks are now crowding the hospitals and taxing health care resources to the limit when such a situation is completely unnecessary. One has only to talk to the frustrated doctors and nurses who are treating the new COVID patients and hear their sorrow and frustration. One may also hear the “not again!” frustration of those who became vaccinated and ready to resume normal patterns of life only to hear that the unvaccinated folks can infect vaccinated folks and make them carriers of the virus even if they don’t get sick. Decisions have consequences and those who have not been vaccinated for whatever reason must accept that their decision is about more than their own body. It can concern the bodies of their neighbors!! This is fundamental gospel love of neighbor. Much more reprehensible are those who have contributed to these decisions by spreading false information about the vaccines or the illness itself. There is no way this behavior can be justified These folks are leading unvaccinated others to cause harm to their families and anyone who comes near them. The scriptures contain ample condemnations for those who lead others astray. One can only hope that those who have not yet received vaccination, and consider themselves to be people of faith, will show love of God and neighbor by getting vaccinated and by leading others to do the same. It Has Been Said
T HAS BEEN SAID:
God is perfection yearning toward imperfection, not turning from it. He is holy Love that saves and redeems us and compels us in our turn to try and dave others. When we see redemption happening or FEEL it happening to ourselves, we understand the love to which the soul is called. So we are to think of God, but more more - to pray to Him and to feel and know Him as completely present in and with us, determining our reality. We are to think of His life in us as so immeasurably exceeding our own life that it can absorb, transmit, and enter into our lives by all ways and at all times. We are wholly immersed in Him, and the difference between God present and absent is merely a difference in our own awareness.
