    As someone who likes to garden, I have often asked myself where the weeds come from.  Indeed, as a campus minister and itinerant preacher, I have wondered  about the effectiveness of my mission.  Some students whom I have gotten to know for a long time have had struggles with faith after graduation.  I wonder how the weeds that hinder growth have cropped up in them.  Did I not sow good seed?

     The temptation to "Fix" the problem is strong, but in the attempt to do this, the good may be damaged.  Much has to be left to the Holy Spirit.  Jesus gives us this parable to help us recognize that the weeds may need to be tolerated lest the good plants suffer  It is a matter of wisdom.  AMEN!
